Coral LLC FAQs

Hundreds of years ago, the “above-sea” coral was a thriving reef. It was geologically pushed up above sea level, free from the ocean pollution that resulted from the Industrial Revolution and the modern-day pollutants that have followed. Coral LLC collects pristine, white fossilized coral heads from these same reefs, which are protected beneath a layer of soil. After the coral rocks are collected, they are taken to a cGMP-certified grinding facility where they undergo a three-stage grinding and sterilization process of purification. The coral calcium that is gathered from this process allows people to gain the benefits of coral calcium in many different forms provided by Coral LLC through our bulk mineral supplements.

The above-sea coral that Coral LLC uses to produce coral mineral supplements does not contain any of the pollutants—such as chemicals, fertilizers, etc.—found in the planet’s now-contaminated oceans. This means that we offer the purest form of coral calcium, allowing you to get the most coral calcium benefits out of our products.
There is no health advantage to harvesting coral from below the sea. Below-sea coral, sometimes referred to as marine grade coral, is less than pure. It can contain shell remnants and seafloor debris among other impurities. Perhaps more problematic, though, is the harvesting process for below-sea coral, which is actually harmful to young marine life. This type of coral is actually vacuumed from the bottom of the sea. Young marine organisms use coral and other nearby items that are taken from the reef as shelter to hide from predators as they grow. Harvesting this coral often means damage to the delicate reef ecosystem.

No. Coral LLC is a proud member of Friend of The Sea and Secretary of State of Environmental Natural Resources. Furthermore, according to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), any coral derived from land sources is exempt from CITES control.

Coral LLC’s harvesting practices were found in compliance with environmental protection guidelines set forth by both agencies and it has been determined that harvesting above sea coral does not harm any endangered marine species or cause any detrimental harm to the environment.

Coral LLC bulk products are successfully sterilized at 125C with indirect heat, thanks to the pure nature of above sea sources. We DO NOT irradiate our products.

Coral LLC Above-Sea Calcium products are not genetically modified and do not contain genetically modified organisms. Our processing plants have taken all possible measurements to ensure that our products are processed in a non-GMO environment.

Coral LLC does not support the concept of GMO’s, and will not knowingly handle and/or promote ingredients that contain GMO’s.
